Petra Cafe
Having eaten at a Petra Cafe before (the Collierville location which is currently closed) I was sure I knew what to expect. I was hungry and the thought of some good humus really appealed to me. So obviously I headed to Petra Cafe on Germantown Pkwy. The space it occupies was formerly a Starbucks that I frequented. I will say that they have done well within their space and utilized the best of the residual Starbucks decor.

When I first glanced at their extensive menu it was a little different than I remembered from their Collierville location, but it didn’t take me long at all to decide on what I wanted. I ordered the Zesty Gyros Panini with a side order of hummus with pita bread.
The hummus came out first with sliced warm pita bread. My first bite let me know that I had made the right lunch decision. It was made onsite and is was pretty darn good. I quickly made my way through the pita that they provided me. I asked for another piece and they were more than happy to accommodate me.

When my panini came out I was in love. It had strips of both lamb and beef with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and “zesty feta.” The ciabotta bread was great with a nice little crispness to it that all good panini sandwiches have. As you can see from my picture below I couldn’t wait to take a bite before I remembered to take the pic. For that I do not apologize. It was good. As hungry as I was I simply could not finish it all. (Which surprised me) I got a to go box and had a wonderful snack later in the day.
I had a great lunch, and walked away very satisfied. I will certainly be telling everyone about this place. Keep up the good work guys!
